It seems like few celebrities are satisfied with their career without launching their own product. From headphones to cookbooks to Limoncello, the sky seems to be the limit.
The latest celebrity product range comes from Lady Gaga who is launching her own wine brand called Grigio Girls. According to several reports, the company will produce wine, wine coolers, wine cocktails and wine punches. It’s safe to say that the popular variety, Pinot Grigio will be the company’s go-to grape.
The name of the brand, Grigio Girls, is also the title of a bonus track on her 2016 album Joanne. The song describes how Gaga and her friends deal with a close friend’s bout with cancer by getting together over a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
Lady Gaga’s interest in wine isn’t new. She once dressed up as a wine cork on the American comedy show Saturday Night Live and has mentioned growing grapes with her boyfriend in the past. Apparently, she is fond of wine, looking for and drinking expensive and rare bottles whenever she tours through Europe.
The name and range of products she aims to sell imply more of a commercial product rather than well-crafted wine. Yet if she uses the same creative passion she uses for her music, making good wine shouldn’t be a problem.
