Grape Friulano

The Friulano grape gets its name from region Friuli, in the Northern Italy.

Limited to the foothills of the Southern and Western Alps, this variety is extreme local, particularly if compared to its closest cousin, the Sauvignon Blanc. The Friuliano has made it across to the U.S. but only in small quantities.

Like its western French cousin, the Sauvignon Blanc, it produces fruity wines with lively acidity and hints of minerals. They are best drunk within a few years of harvest.
