We have to admit. Beer tasting events are quite rare to find in Bangkok, while we all seem to be more familiar with wine tastings. It is even more interesting if we have any tasting events of craft beer, which has recently become in the scene of beer lovers both in Thailand and around the globe. And did you know that, at present, there are over 1,000 microbreweries throughout Italy?
That’s the reason why About Eatery, the newly-opened natural wine bar and restaurant in Asoke, joined forces again with Pacific B&B, Thailand’s leading beverage importer focusing on Italian craft beer, to organize Bangkok’s biggest craft beer tasting, which they named it “Head to Head Battle: L’Olmaia VS Lambrate”.
At the event, 6 premium craft brews from 2 producers in Italy were introduced. Among those 6 specials, 3 labels are selected from L’Olmaia, a craft brewery founded in 2004 in a small farmhouse near Siena in Tuscany, including LA5, LA9 and TANGERINE. The other 3 selected brews are hailed from Birrificio Lambrate, one of the leading craft breweries and brew pub in Italy. Thailand is the first export market in Asia to have Lambrate for this special one-time event. Their products available on the event included DOMM, LAMBRATE and GAINA.
All went well at the event. The host served us free canapé along with stylish wooden Beer Flight set coming with 6 different craft beer in each glass. Here we have collected some photos following the event for you!
