Moscato cocktails

The Moscato d’Asti is a sweet white wine made from the Moscato Bianco grape, and produced in the province of Asti, Piedmont Italy.

IMG_1431This wine is sweet, slightly fizzy and low in alcohol due to the winemaking process that includes an halt to the fermentation process, leaving part of the natural sugars n the wine. Thus it is considered a perfect dessert wine. It is a good pairing with fruit or hazelnut dessers, but it’s good as aperitif too, due to its low alcohol and sweetness.

Thanks to the wonderful cocktail bar and restaurant Vesper, and their expert Bar Manager, Colin Tait, we had some tips on how using the Moscato d’Asti from Famiglia Otto Destefanis for cocktails. (You can find this wonderful sweet wine in our Wine Shop.
